Volunteer

Volunteers Welcome!

The Claresholm & District Museum has a long history of being a volunteer-driven organization. It is only with the dedication and hard work of our volunteers that we have the amazing facility we have today.

We have volunteer opportunities for all ages and skill sets, and everyone is welcome! Volunteer duties can be one-time or recurring. We can arrange to accommodate most schedules and create a volunteer opportunity that both interests and works for you.

As a volunteer, you can assist with seasonal operations, tours and programs, public relations and marketing, and help at special events.

If you are looking to add to your skill set, build your resume, or support your community in a fun, meaningful way, we would love to have you join us!

Volunteer work may include:

  • Exhibits- design, carpentry and painting
  • Research – history and geneaology
  • Being a visitor host
  • Repair and care of artifacts (conservation)
  • Filing, typing, organizing
  • Fundraising

Volunteer as a Board Member

The Board of Directors  sets the direction of the Museum, oversees the budget, ensures that policies are in place and followed, and represents the Museum in the community and region.

If you have skills like accounting, law, teaching, marketing, or fundraising, we would certainly appreciate your knowledge and skillset!

The Board meets once a month for a few hours and 3 or 4 times a year for special events.
